When you're young you have all of these aspirations in life like what you want to be when you get older, places you want to travel and meeting new people. BUT most importantly while your getting older and flourishing through you career to never forget where you come from. Some people move on with their lives, start families, new business adventures, excelling in their career ... but can you remember how you got there?. Before I started playing basketball I was a PROUD EAST ORANGE RAMS CHEERLEADER from the age of 5 until I was 12. Being around people who comes from different walks of life and different backgrounds ... I found out what it meant to be apart of something "DIFFERENT".
Thursday, I got to sit down with one of the most influential person i've known since I was a toddler. Coach Stanley Edwards, President of the East Orange Rams Football Organization joined me for the first segment of "OFF THE BENCH PODCAST". On the first episode we reminisced about how successful the program was way back in the early 2000's, Changes within the Organization, Controversial issues that Football Players on All levels are facing and How he's working on getting the program BACK TO ITS ROOTS.
Also, Coach Stan wanted to verbally address ALL OF THE EAST ORANGE RAMS ALUMNI (cheerleaders, coaches, football players, parents and fans) Come back out and support whether it's being a mentor, address, coach or even moral support the student-athletes ... Just like how there was someone there for you when you needed an extra ear to listen.
